Việc khám, chữa bệnh có khả năng tác động đến sức khỏe, cũng như cuộc sống lâu dài của mỗi cá nhân, trong đó có người chưa thành niên. Thực tiễn pháp lý tại một số quốc gia cho thấy người chưa thành niên có thể tự mình đưa ra các quyết định về y tế trong một phạm vi nhất định. Tại Việt Nam, pháp luật đã ghi nhận khả năng tự quyết định của người chưa thành niên trong một số quan hệ cụ thể. Vấn đề đặt ra là người chưa thành niên có thể tự mình đưa ra quyết định tham gia vào quá trình khám, chữa bệnh hoặc từ chối điều trị hay không. Bài viết tập trung làm rõ vấn đề này trên các phương diện: (i) học thuyết pháp lý; (ii) kinh nghiệm theo pháp luật tại một số quốc gia; và (iii) khả năng ghi nhận quyền tự quyết định của người chưa thành niên trong việc khám, chữa bệnh theo pháp luật Việt Nam.
